Konvent des Heiligen Josef von Arimathäa
The Community Of St. Josef Of Arimathea (CJA)
CJA is a brotherhood of clergymen and an ecumenical fellowship of men, women and families whose members pray in the liturgical tradition of the Ukrainian Lutheran Church together and for each other. This includes the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, Vespers and other Services of the Byzantine-Slavic tradition.
The CJA strives to adapt the richness of Eastern Christian spirituality, liturgy and theology by way of praying, to make good use of the results of the theological dialogues between Lutheran and Orthodox churches and to promote the studies of the Eastern Church.
The CJA ist open for relations to representatives in the spirit of ecumenism.
The CJA was founded in 2003 by students of courses in Eastern Church Studies at the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg (former name: Estern Rite Community).
The CJA is part of Treffen Geistlicher Gemeinschaften in der EKD.
