Prince Don Davide Pozzi Sacchi Of Santa Sofia

His Royal Highness, Prince Don Davide Pozzi Sacchi of Santa Sofia, born in Castel San Giovanni (PC) on May 5, 1963.

Current Holder to the throne of Epirus by abdication in his favor on the 25th of March 2001 by H.R.H. Alexander of Epirus. The abdication is recognized by the Holy Orthodox Church. 

Royal Highness was appointed Prince of the Imperial House of Ethiopia by H.R.H. Philip Makonnen on the 2nd of March 2005 along with the cousin and Imperial Highness of the House of Ethiopia.

Of the Pozzi family, of clear and ancient Lombard nobility, there are several branches that are scattered throughout Italy and  France. All are equally noteworthy and illustrious for dignity, offices and honors. It already appeared in the Matricula Nobilium in the Visconti age of 1277 with the Latin name of De Puteo, translated in the following centuries by the various sources with Dal Pozzo, Del Pozzo and Pozzi.   

At the archive of the Noble Don Vittorio Urbano Crivelli Visconti, a distinguished scholar of Italian noble families, there is a file relating to the paternal family of Prince Davide, complete with genealogical tables and coat of arms, from which the title of Noble and the right to use this weapon are irrefutable. After the abdication in his favor of H.R.H. Prince Alexander of Epirus, Don Davide took on a new coat of arms respectful of the Balkan heraldry and adapted to the new rank he assumed.

The ancient family weapon was quartered in this coat of arms. Among the various titles his Highness is awarded there is that of Count of Caorso according to the Napoleonic legislation of the Italian Kingdom, of Baron of the Sacred Apostolic Palaces of the Lateran, Personal Nobility, of Fidalgo Caballeiro, Portuguese hereditary nobility and the honor of Officer of Honor of the French Empire. He is also Knight of the Grand Cross of the Imperial Order of the Star of Honor of the Ethiopian Empire, Grand Cross of the Ethiopian Imperial Order of Santa Maria di Zion, Commander with plaque of the Order of Our Lady of the Conception of Villa Viçosa, Knight of 'Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Crux Merits of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Croix des Anciens Militaires, Honorary Colonel of Kentucky and Honorary Colonel of Alabama.
